How do you decide which grade to recommend?

From the material specification, its condition, the machine and the fixture — in that order. Two shops running the same alloy on different machines rarely need the same grade, so we ask about spindle power, stability and coolant delivery before naming one. If the information is not to hand, send the drawing and we will work from that.

Question 2

Do you provide starting cutting data?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with every recommendation. Starting values are given as a range with the limiting factor identified — whether that is edge temperature, deflection or chip evacuation — so you know which parameter to move first if the cut needs adjusting on the machine.

Question 3

Can you engineer a tool to our component drawing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Send the component drawing with the operation you want to address, and you receive a tool design and cutting simulation for approval before anything is produced. Typical turnaround is five working days for the design and three to four weeks for the finished tool, depending on geometry.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Not on catalogue references. Inserts are supplied in standard packs of ten, and round tools individually. Engineered tooling is quoted per project, and single-piece specials are normal for mould and die work.

Can we trial a tool before committing to a volume?

Accepted Answer

That is the normal route. A trial quantity is supplied against the specific operation, with the cutting data and an agreed measure of success — usually parts per edge or a surface finish target. We ask for the result either way, because a failed trial tells us more about the application than a successful one.

What are typical lead times within Europe?

Stocked references ship the same working day when the order is placed before 14:00 CET, and reach most of Western Europe within 48 hours. Non-stocked catalogue items run two to three weeks. Engineered tooling is quoted with a firm date, and that date is what we report against.

Question 7

What documentation comes with a delivery?

A despatch note referencing the lot, plus dimensional and material data against the part number. EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates, REACH and RoHS declarations and conflict-minerals statements are issued on request and normally within two working days.

A tool failed early. What happens next?

Send us the tool and the conditions it ran under. We examine the wear pattern, compare it against the retained sample from the same lot, and come back with a cause — whether that points to the tool, the parameters or the set-up. Where the tool is at fault, it is replaced without argument.

Do you support regrinding and recoating?

For solid carbide round tools, yes — restored to the original drawing rather than to a generic profile, and recoated in the grade the tool was designed around. Tools that have been reground elsewhere are assessed first; some geometries do not survive a non-original regrind.

How is tooling packed for transport?

Round tools ship in individual tubes with the cutting end protected and the measured diameter marked on the label. Inserts travel in sealed packs with the lot number printed, not handwritten. Outer packaging is plastic-free where the tool allows.

Which languages can we work in?

Accepted Answer

English, German and French for enquiries, technical support and documentation. Part numbers, cutting data and drawings are identical across all three, so a multi-site group is not reconciling three different catalogues.
